Reflections of our Origins
Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm CDT
Location: Watertown, SD
This year we decided to reflect ArtWalk’s origins as well as our own origins. ArtWalk 2006 will be done in the traditional way. Artists will be assigned to Uptown businesses, balloons will be placed outside the business, the artist signature scavenger hunt will be held, and there will be a children’s Arts in the Park.

We also wish to expand the idea of Origins by including traditional art (visual, folk, and performance) from Watertown’s ethnic heritage. In addition to our original Sioux inhabitants, Watertonians predominantly came from Norway, Sweden, and Germany.

This year’s ArtWalk will be juried to maintain ArtWalk’s tradition of quality fine art. There will be a cash prize for the winner of the People’s Choice award. There will be a gift basket for People’s Choice for the stu...[more details]

Sioux Falls Festival of Cultures
Time: 12:00pm - 8:00pm CDT
Location: Falls Park
Festival 2005 The festival begins with a parade of flags of nearly 200 countries and Native American nations. This event is held at Falls Park with plenty of ethnic food, music, dance and arts and crafts.

Consider parking downtown Sioux Falls and hopping on the free Trolley that will take you to and from the Park. Just look for the green trolley, which passes through downtown every 1/2 hour.
